About Reis Magos Fort Goa 

Reis Magos fort was built by Adil Shah as a smaller fort in 1497 and destroyed by the Portuguese in 1510. The Portuguese later rebuilt the fort on a bigger scale in 1543. In 1900 this fort was turned into a jail. The water supply for the fort is provided from a fresh water spring within the fortress and it has many underground rooms and passages. This Fort stands on the banks of the river Mandovi at Reis Magos, and is visible from Panaji. This fort is currently among the few well preserved forts of Goa. It was recently restored at a cost of around 3.5 crores.
